Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur expands frozen berry recalls over possible E. coli
Consumers should not eat the affected berries and can discard them or return them for a full refund.

Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A. expanded its recalls to include additional lots of Great Value frozen Organic Triple Berry Blend and Organic Blueberries, plus one lot of Trader Joe’s frozen Organic Mixed Berry Blend, because of potential contamination with E. coli O145:H28, according to a company notice posted by the FDA. The company said the precautionary action followed traceback information linked to frozen blueberries involved in the first recall.
The Great Value products were shipped to select Walmart stores in 30 states and Puerto Rico. The Trader Joe’s product went to select stores in 26 states and the District of Columbia. Affected lot codes are 6 031 01 and 6 041 01 for Great Value Organic Triple Berry, 6 019 01, 6 040 01 and 6 163 01 for Great Value Organic Blueberries, and 6 051 01 for Trader Joe’s Organic Mixed Berry Blend. Consumers should discard the products or return them to the relevant retailer for a full refund. The notice says E. coli O145 can cause severe stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting.
