Draeger recalls VentStar neonatal resuscitation hoses over possible cracks

The FDA says affected VentStar Resus Neo hoses should be inspected and removed before use because cracks could restrict ventilation or delay therapy.

Reported by 1 outlet Saturday, October 3, 2026

Draeger has asked customers to remove certain VentStar Resus Neo hoses from places where they are used or sold because cracks could cause the hose to fall off or leak. The FDA identified the recall as the most serious type and says users should inspect and remove affected products before use.

The disposable breathing circuits carry breathing gas from a source to an infant weighing up to 22 lbs. If a cracked hose is used, restricted ventilation or delayed therapy could lead to desaturation, hypoxia or patient death. Draeger said users had detected obvious cracks before use. As of September 3, Draeger had reported no serious injuries or deaths associated with the issue. Customers with questions can contact Draeger, and health care professionals and consumers may report adverse reactions or quality problems to MedWatch.
