EAK Distribution recalls broccoli seeds over possible Salmonella contamination
Consumers who bought the seeds on Amazon between August 20th, 2026 and September 18th, 2026 should not use them and should dispose of them.

EAK Distribution is recalling HOME GROWN Green Sprouting Calabrese Broccoli Seeds, 8 oz, Heirloom, because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. The company said its supplier notified it on September 28, 2026 that Salmonella was detected in a broccoli seed sample collected and analyzed by the FDA. The company said the recall followed notice that the seeds were used by a sprout grower whose finished product was part of an FDA investigation involving a multistate food borne illness outbreak.
The seeds were sold on Amazon.com to consumers nationwide between August 20th, 2026 and September 18th, 2026. They come in a cream colored pouch with UPC code 850056627443 and a top seal embossed with Production Lot Code AUG172026. EAK Distribution said there have been no reported illnesses from its product to date. The company halted sales on September 17th and said it has ceased production and distribution of the affected product. Consumers should dispose of the seeds and contact Amazon for a full refund.
