The National Institutes of Health plans to launch a public-private partnership in December to speed development of personalized cancer vaccines, Becker’s Hospital Review reported, citing an Oct. 9 New York Times report. The Times said the initiative will fast-track the vaccines, comparing the effort with the push for Covid-19 vaccines.

MedPage Today described the plan as an accelerated initiative for therapeutic cancer vaccines and reported that most use mRNA technology. The reports do not provide details about the partnership’s participants or which vaccines would be developed. The initiative is planned to start in December.
