Three women reported neurological symptoms after receiving botulinum toxin injections at a Colorado medical spa, public health officials said. Investigators found the spa had used an unapproved product. The women received injections in December 2025 or January 2026, and symptoms began on the day of their injections. Symptoms included numbness and tingling, muscle weakness, dysphonia, blurred vision, and neck stiffness, and eased within a few days.

After a patient reported symptoms in January 2026, officials surveyed 52 spa patients, and 27 responded. Two more reported symptoms. All three patients with symptoms had received injections from the same lot of the unapproved product. Investigators also found problems with product preparation, storage, and injection practices. The spa was told to stop using unapproved products, and a complaint against the provider's license was submitted to Colorado regulators.
