HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced the sign-ons as part of his “Make America Healthy Again” agenda’s focus on treating food as medicine, The Hill reported.

The pledge asks hospitals to prepare patient meals with nutrient-dense, scratch-cooked ingredients, provide nutrition counseling and nutrition information at discharge, and review nutrition science and evidence-based dietary practices. It also calls for limiting sugar-sweetened beverages and refined carbohydrates and increasing fiber-rich whole grains. Hospitals that sign will receive a badge they can display on their websites, Kennedy announced.
