Democrats are projected to take control of both chambers of Congress after a series of midterm victories. STAT reported that candidates who campaigned on health issues won key races. TIME noted that media projections are not official results, and some close contests may take days or longer to resolve.

STAT reported that pediatrician Annie Andrews won South Carolina’s open Senate seat and Abdul El-Sayed won a Michigan Senate race. Amy Acton won Ohio’s governorship and Keisha Lance Bottoms won Georgia’s. STAT said Democrats will have new tools in Congress to investigate the administration’s actions and oppose its health policy agenda.
