Nuvig Therapeutics has halted one of two trials of its lead drug program, according to Fierce Biotech and Endpoints News. Fierce reported that Nuvig determined the program would not be able to advance quickly enough. Endpoints identified the stopped study as a Phase 2 trial of NVG-2089.

Endpoints said the study involved patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Fierce described Nuvig as Big Pharma-backed and said the halted trial was one of two trials for the company’s sole clinical asset. The reports did not say what will happen to the other trial or when the halt took effect.
