FDA approves Brytly eye drops for nonprescription redness relief
Brytly is approved for adults and children 12 and older, with use limited to no more than two times per day.

The FDA approved Brytly, apraclonidine ophthalmic solution, 0.125%, as a nonprescription treatment for eye redness due to minor irritations. The FDA said it is the first nonprescription eye drop with apraclonidine. The drops are approved for adults and children 12 years of age and older. MedPage Today reported that the FDA granted the license to Alcon.
The FDA said Brytly should not be used more than two times per day. Contact lenses should be removed before use, and users should wait at least 10 minutes after applying the drops before putting lenses back in. If using other eye drops, consumers should wait five minutes between products. The FDA advises stopping use and asking a doctor about eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation, or symptoms that persist for more than three days or worsen.
