Kenya reports seven Ebola cases, including three infected health workers
Kenya has confirmed seven Ebola infections, including three health workers who cared for the first patient.

Kenya’s Health Ministry reported four new Ebola infections, bringing the country’s total to seven. Three of the new patients are health workers who cared for the first confirmed patient, and another is linked to that patient, according to ABC News. The ministry said the four were in isolation and receiving care. The first patient died on Oct. 5, while the other two patients were in stable condition.
The New York Times also reported seven infections, including four new cases. ABC said about 130 people who had contact with the first patient were identified, with 128 in quarantine and two being traced. In an earlier report, STAT described the second case and said a World Health Organization official saw no evidence of an Ebola outbreak in Kenya at that point. Kenya has strengthened screening and set up an emergency hotline, ABC reported.
