Zocdoc is allowing approved personal AI agents to search its provider directory, check clinician availability, verify insurance and book appointments for patients, Healthcare Dive reported. The company says it requires explicit patient consent before an agent makes a booking.

Zocdoc said traffic from AI agents on its site has grown nearly 30-fold since July. Agents apply for access and, once approved, connect to Zocdoc’s AI backend. The company says agents must protect patient and provider data, and may not train on, resell or republish it. Zocdoc did not say how it will ensure agents follow those rules.
