Novo raises outlook as Wegovy pill sales top estimates
Novo said Wegovy pill sales reached 5.4 billion kroner in the third quarter, above analysts’ expected roughly 4.5 billion kroner.
The company’s total quarterly sales were 79.2 billion Danish kroner ($11.9 billion), ahead of FactSet’s estimate of 73.6 billion kroner.
Novo now expects adjusted revenue and operating profit growth between negative 2% and 2% at constant exchange rates, compared with its previous outlook of negative 6% to flat for both measures. Adjusted operating profit was 31.7 billion kroner, versus the expected 28.6 billion kroner, CNBC reported. Sales of injectable Wegovy and Ozempic were 20.4 billion kroner and 29.7 billion kroner, respectively, also above expectations. CNBC reported that Novo’s shares rose as much as 6% in early trading.
